MOVING IN AND MATERIALS HANDLING

CTCC does not allow you to move in by yourself if you require a dolly or other cart, or if you need the loading dock. They do charge a materials handling fee as referenced in your contract. Most exhibitors who can hand-carry their goods into the show rooms without using the dock or any dollies (including their own) will not be charged fees (pullman suitcases were acceptable in previous years and should be ok). You must ensure you do not damage the venue floors and walls at any time.

For those who need dollies you must use the dock - as in previous years we'll be negotiating a flat rate fee TBD for unlimited weight that covers both move in and move out, but only during show set-up times on Thursday evening June 19 and Friday morning June 20 and show tear-down times Sunday evening June 22, 2008. That fee usually covers unloading from vehicles at the dock, loading onto dollies, transportation from the dock to the booth, carting away and storing of empty boxes on Thursday evening June 19 or Friday morning June 20, and bringing back empty boxes, loading dollies, transportation to the dock and loading onto vehicles at the dock on Sunday evening June 22. This is a big savings over the regular fees per 100lbs for those exhibitors with multiple booths and heavy stock.

TO GET THIS RATE AND USE THE DOCK, you must complete and submit a credit card authorization form (to be available closer to the show) to St. George Show Services. Please also contact us at least 2 weeks before the show if you are going to use the dock so that we can give you the loading dock address, tell you the times that the dock will be open, and so we know how many exhibitors will use the dock. It is critical that no one abuses the privilege of using the docks so that we can continue to negotiate good access terms for future shows.

IF YOU HAVE GOODS ARRIVING AT THE VENUE BEFORE THURSDAY JUNE 19 6PM OR HAVE GOODS LEAVING AFTER SUNDAY JUNE 22 8PM OR HAVE OTHER SPECIAL HANDLING NEEDS THEN YOU MUST USE PAGES TWO ONWARD OF THE MATERIALS HANDLING FORM BELOW AND THE FLAT RATE WILL NOT APPLY.

NO CHILDREN UNDER 16 ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES DURING SET-UP AND TEAR-DOWN.

SET-UP TIMES

Set-up times are, as usual:
Thursday night June 19 2008 from 7:00pm to around 9:00pm (9:30pm latest this year, folks!),
and Friday morning June 20 2008 from 7:00am to 11:30am.
The show opens promptly at noon Friday.
The show closes at 5:00pm Sunday June 22 2008 with no teardown before that time.

ELECTRICAL

You will need to order electricity yourself directly from the venue using the form to be provided below. The show cannot provide power because of policies of the venue.

EXHIBITOR REGULATIONS

CTCC's exhibitor regulations must be adhered to by all exhibitors and form part of your contract. Please read the exhibitor regulations which are included in the forms package below.

BANNER HANGING

YOU CANNOT ATTACH ANYTHING TO THE WALLS. If you need a banner hung above your booth, YOU WILL NEED TO USE THE ATTACHED FORM TO HAVE THE VENUE HANG YOUR BANNER / SIGN FROM THE CEILING ABOVE YOUR BOOTH. That form is referenced below. Please note that banners / signs weighing more than 3 pounds will not be able to be hung.

DOOR PRIZES

This year as usual we are going to do door prize draws.  There will be at least one draw per day, at 4pm.   Company names and booth numbers of exhibitors who have donated prizes for that draw will be read over the PA system in both show rooms.

If you would like to donate one or more door prizes, please contact us before June 20 2008.   Donations should have your business card attached to each prize.   They must be suitable for cost-effective mailing by us to winners who aren't required to be present at draw time.   Please drop the door prizes off to us during set-up.

MAGAZINE GIVEAWAYS

Bead and Button, Beadstyle and Art Jewelry magazines will hopefully be generously supporting the show again this year with a supply of free magazines which will be part of door prizes and may be put out on the front desk, plus free subscription door prizes.  Usually the free magazines are all gone by Friday evening!

FOOD NEARBY - RESOURCES AND TIPS

The corridor outside the show room has access to the north and south; on the north side is Stephen Avenue, with a large number of restaurants of all kinds. To the east are several fast food outlets. To the west about 3 blocks are several major indoor shopping malls, with lots of choices in between. Connected to the show venue very close to the show (just down the escalator) is the Calgary Marriott, which has a Starbucks and a nice restaurant for lunches and light dinners. There are numerous very nice restaurants for dinner surrounding the show venue, including Catch (seafood) and Saltlick (steak house) just across the street on Stephen Avenue. Across the street to the south on 9th Ave SE is the Calgary Tower with its revolving restaurant with great views of the city.

Keep those energy levels up!

BADGES and TABLE CARDS

We provide 2 badges per exhibitor by default.  If you need more badges, please contact us by June 12 2008.  If you need more than 3 badges there will be a charge of $1 per extra badge above 3.  The table sign is a folding card that's about 3.5 inches high by 11 inches long.

SALE SIGNS

There will be no signs advertising merchandise as on "Sale" or "Show Special" or that the retail price is a percentage off marked price.   Wholesale discounts are allowed for qualified wholesale customers, and volume purchase "buy N and get 1 free" retail offers are allowed under conditions (e.g. discount cannot exceed 67%) - please check your contract for all signage conditions.

EXTRA TABLES and CHAIRS

Please pre-order all the tables you will need if possible.  If you need additional tables from us you will need to contact us by June 6 2008.   If you need extra tables and chairs during set-up you will be able to rent them then from St. George Show Services on a pre-payment basis.

SALES TAX

Alberta does not have provincial retail sales tax. GST still applies however.
